Twittelator Neue is a very nicely designed twitter app with some interesting and useful features. The way it handles photos is especially impressive: Tweets with photos have a nice rectangular preview box below the tweet in the timeline - tapping on the preview expands the image, swiping to the left shows other images within your timeline or search view. Swiping down shows all the photos in a grid view. Working with tweets within the timeline is easy - tap and hold on a tweet to quickly reply, retweet, view related, star or read later. Selecting a tweet with a link displays a nice preview of the link below, which can be expanded with a tap.The way lists are handled is also interesting. You can save your favorite lists as a "shortcut," which is really a tab next to your main timeline. You can then easily swipe left or right between your lists, mentions, messages and profile. This provides quick access (but not quite as handy as Tweetbot, which allows you to tap on the top nav bar to jump to any list at any time). Other services are integrated well, including Instapaper/Read It Later, image and video service choices, music now playing, and even Facebook post integration are all easily configurable. Navigation is a little different than other Twitter apps, but it's intuitive once you use it for a little while. Some issues to consider... While most of the navigation is intuitive and time-saving, there are some areas that need improvement. Switching between accounts takes too many clicks (first jump to profile, then accounts, then a bizzarre timemachine style animation), and distracts from the otherwise clean user interface. Why don't they allow a press and hold on the profile icon to select other accounts?? And push notifications are a subscription for $2 a year. I am actually OK with paying this because it's a reasonable amount considering server costs, and it helps you keep all things Twitter tidily within one app. Overall I would recommend this Twittelator Neue. I urge the developers to continue refining what is a very nice and modern take on a Twitter app.
